The zirconium synthesis furnace is a device used in dental technology to produce crowns, bridges and other prosthetic dental restorations made of zirconium.

Zirconia is a ceramic material with high hardness and strength, which is used in dental medicine due to its biocompatibility, i.e. lack of harmful effects on the human body.

The zirconium synthesis furnace is used to harden zirconia inlays that were previously designed and cut from the so-called zirconia blocks using a CADCAM machine. During the curing process, the zirconia block is heated to a high temperature in an oven, which causes it to reach its final hardness and durability.

The zirconium synthesizing furnace is a very precise device that enables obtaining high-quality prosthetic dental restorations.

DD phoeniX is a powder that helps clean dirty sintering furnaces.

Regular use ensures that the problem of discoloration is minimized, thus extending the life of the heaters.

Use:

  • sintering – cleaning program – in accordance with the furnace manufacturer’s recommendations;
  • thorough cleaning (in case of problems with the color of the work) 30--50 gr X 2 cleaning cycles;
  • regular cleaning (every 2 weeks) approx. 30gr x 1 cleaning cycle.

Precautions:

  • when using the powder, wear protective gloves and a mask to protect your eyes and mouth;
  • do not eat or drink while using the powder;
  • avoid inhaling dust;
  • apply to the sintering tray from a distance and at a moderate speed to avoid increased dusting.

Storage:

  • store tightly closed in original packaging;
  • store in a cool, dry place.

Firing temperature control rings are highly accurate ceramic elements that indicate the actual amount of heat absorbed during the firing process. The sintering process causes the ring to shrink.

  • The shrinking process continues as long as the maximum temperature is maintained in the oven.

  • The degree of shrinkage – the amount by which the ring diameter has decreased – is measured using a numerical or digital micrometer.

  • It is recommended to place the rings in multiple locations and at different levels of the kiln as this provides the greatest control over the temperature distribution inside the kiln.

  • The degree of ring shrinkage corresponds to the amount of heat absorbed at the point in the furnace where the ring was placed. The diameter can be easily measured using a micrometer.

  • The letter “T” impressed on the ring should be positioned exactly in the notch (measuring notch) of the micrometer.

  • Both numerical and digital micrometers have an ergonomically designed solid base with a retaining ring clamp that ensures the ring is always properly positioned in the micrometer.

  • This design simplifies the measurement process and improves repeatability and therefore the reliability of measurements.

Manufacturer's Recommendations: To maximize the life of heating elements when using Donghai silicon-carbon heaters (a Japanese manufacturer), it is recommended to maintain an appropriate heating rate during the sintering process. Up to 900°C, the heating rate should not exceed 30°C/min, while above 900°C, it is recommended to limit the heating rate to a maximum of 10°C/min.

An oven using the latest technological advances in microwave heating.

This solution offers key advantages over conventional sintering furnaces:

  • total sintering time: approx. 4 hours;
  • heating time to 1550 ºC: 110 min;
  • cooling to 300 ºC: 130 min.

Unlike conventional devices—in which heat penetrates from the outside into the structure—in a microwave oven, heat is generated simultaneously at all points within the material. This results in a much more even temperature distribution. The resulting sintered structure is cleaner, more durable, and more precise because there are no thermal "drafts" during heating.

Zirconia is a material with very high thermal resistance. In a traditional furnace, heating must occur very slowly, with numerous stabilization stages, to ensure the heat reaches the interior of the prosthesis. This causes long sintering cycles.
